About TLC Home Solutions

Start to finish, and everything in between

TLC Home Solutions is a Camas WA remodeling contractor, run by the guy who does the work. Kitchens, bathrooms, custom carpentry and whole-home renovations, across Camas, Washougal, Vancouver and the rest of Clark County.

Most of our jobs are inside a twenty-minute drive of the shop. That is on purpose.

Thirty years in the trade, thirteen on my own

I’m Tony Clark. TLC is just my initials — Tony L. Clark. No acronym, no tender-loving-care angle. People ask.

I got started the way a lot of us do, handing tools to my dad around the house. At eighteen I went to work for my best friend’s dad, who ran an exterior lap siding company, and stayed five years. After that I got on with a three-man outfit that bought, fixed and sold houses — full remodels, and a handful of custom homes built from bare ground up. I was there more than fifteen years.

That’s where the real education happened. Generational knowledge, passed down from people who had been doing it long enough to have already made the mistakes I was about to make. You don’t get that out of a book or a weekend certification.

I started TLC Home Solutions in 2013. Counting from that first siding job, it’s been over thirty years in the trade — thirteen of them with my own name on the invoice.

Same hands, start to finish

When you hire us you’re not getting a project manager who hands the job off and stops by on Fridays. I’m there from the first walk-through to the last piece of trim. The framing, the tile, the finish carpentry — that’s my work, and I’d rather answer for it directly than explain someone else’s.

For plumbing and electrical we bring in the same specialty trades we’ve worked with for years. Not the cheapest bid that month — the people whose work I already trust, because I’m the one standing behind it when the inspector shows up.

Nobody hands your project to a stranger halfway through. The person who priced it is the person who builds it, and he’s the one you call if something isn’t right a year later.

How a project actually goes

It starts with a walk-through at your house, not a phone quote. We look at what’s there — the layout, the fixture locations, the venting, what’s under the floor — and then you get a written scope and price with the material allowances spelled out. You can see where the money sits and change it before anything is ordered.

Once we start: floors get protected, the site gets cleaned at the end of the day, and you know who is coming and roughly when. At the end we walk it together, and I don’t call the job done until you do.

The part nobody likes talking about

Remodels turn up problems. Open a bathroom floor in a forty-year-old house and there’s a fair chance of dry rot under the toilet flange. Pull a kitchen soffit and the wiring above it may not be anything you’d want left in a wall.

We tell you the day we find it, with what it costs to fix and what happens if we don’t. No quiet change orders at the end, no discovering it on the final invoice. It’s the least fun conversation in this business and it’s the one that decides whether you’d hire us again.

A Camas WA remodeling contractor you can look up

  • Registration: WA Contractor Registration / UBI #603-267-042
  • Rating: A+ with the Better Business Bureau
  • Based in: Camas, WA — also serving Vancouver, Washougal, Battle Ground and Ridgefield
  • Reviews: read what homeowners said on our testimonials page

Before you call anyone — us included — run their UBI through Washington L&I’s contractor lookup. It takes about thirty seconds and it tells you whether a contractor is registered, bonded and paid up. We’d rather you did.
