How a free remodeling estimate Camas WA actually works
Asking for a free remodeling estimate Camas WA homeowners can actually act on should not involve a call center or a form that disappears. You get a call back from me, not a scheduler. Usually the same day, and if it is late in the week, Monday at the latest. We talk through what you are thinking about for long enough to work out whether it is worth me driving over, which is a conversation I would rather have on the phone than waste your afternoon on.
Then we set a walk-through at your house. I look at the actual space — the layout, what is under the floor, where the plumbing and venting run, what the last person did that you are now living with. That visit is free and there is no follow-up campaign afterward.
Afterward you get a written scope and price with the material allowances spelled out, so you can see where the money sits and change it before anything is ordered. If the number does not work, tell me and we will look at what can come out of it. If you go a different direction, no hard feelings.
What to have ready (none of it required)
- Photos of the room, even bad phone ones. They tell me more than a description.
- A rough budget range. Not to spend it — to keep me from designing something that was never going to work.
- Your timeline. If you need it done before a wedding or a baby, that changes the sequence.
- Anything you have already been told by another contractor. If someone gave you a number, I would rather understand it than talk around it.
If you have none of that, call anyway. Plenty of people start with nothing but a room they have stopped liking.
Where we work
Camas is home base. We work across Washougal, Vancouver, Battle Ground, Ridgefield and the rest of Clark County, Washington — most jobs within a twenty-minute drive of the shop.
Open Monday through Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. If you get voicemail it is because I am on a job site, and I will call you back.
Before you hire anyone
Licensed and insured in Washington — WA Contractor Registration / UBI #603-267-042. Run that number, or any contractor’s, through Washington L&I’s contractor lookup before you sign anything. It takes thirty seconds and tells you whether they are registered, bonded and paid up.
Not sure what you need yet? Start with what we do, or go straight to kitchens, bathrooms or siding and exterior work.
Questions people ask before they call
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. The walk-through and the written estimate cost nothing, and there is no obligation attached to either. I am not going to call you every week afterward. If it is a fit you will know, and if it is not, that is a normal outcome.
Who actually shows up?
Me. The framing, tile and finish carpentry are my work, and for plumbing and electrical we bring in the same specialty trades we have used for years. You will not get handed to a stranger halfway through the job.
I do not know what I want yet. Is it too early to call?
No, and honestly that is the better time. It is easier to talk through options before you have committed to a layout or fallen in love with a tile that will not work in that space. Most conversations start with a room somebody has stopped liking.
Do you take on small jobs, or only full remodels?
Both. Some of what we do is a full kitchen, some is a single bathroom, and some is a wall that needs opening up because something behind it is wrong. Call and describe it — if it is not something we should be doing, I will tell you that too.
Which areas do you serve?
Camas, Washougal, Vancouver, Battle Ground, Ridgefield and the rest of Clark County, Washington.
